Questions about pasted text.

Is this an online text to speech tool?

No, it’s an app. Paste the text in the app; the text is voiced online, and the audio is then kept on your device, in your library, to play again as often as you like.

How long can the text be?

A long text is split into pages of up to 2,500 characters each, and up to 50 pages go into one book. Each page is one page of your balance. Any text up to 2,500 characters counts as one whole page, however short. You can add several pages, each with its own text, to one book, and add more pages to a book later.

Is there a free text to speech website?

Outloud Reader is an app for iPhone, iPad and Android, not a website. It’s free to download, a few pages are free to try, and playing a finished book again costs nothing. More pages come in packs or with Premium; prices are shown in the app. The audio is made online and then plays offline.

Which languages can it read in?

English (US and UK), Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, German, Dutch, Polish, Ukrainian, Russian, Turkish, Japanese, Korean and Chinese — with a woman’s or a man’s voice in all of them except French, which has a woman’s voice.

Can I download the audio as an MP3?

No. The audio stays in your library in the app, ready to play again as often as you like, at no cost. It isn’t exported as a file.
